It took a while before I reviewed my last post entry. If you are asking what happened well life happened. Unlike most bloggers I have a day job and have no way of getting in touch with you guys 24/7. It’s kinda sad but like they say in the movies there’s no time like the present. So I’ll be catching up.
Aside from getting a lot of feedback asking who the hell am I, I have also observed that more and more anonymous bloggers are getting into the fray. To the e-mails I received saying “!@#@# is an idiot”, thanks for putting a smile on my face. As for the “other” anonymous bloggers, guys this is really getting out of hand.
Okay back to the issues. Jepoy backed me up on my last blog entry while Karlo made a slightly harsh blog post.
Okay. I wrote to be fair to everybody. Here’s my take on this. I want to tell people I still believe in the Philippine Blog Awards and if they are willing to make reforms or changes then I believe we can all benefit from it. I believe that if we are all willing to make sacrifices then we can make our community a better place.
Guys understand that the Philippine Blog Awards is a constant. There will be only one Philippine Blog Awards and we have to make do with what we have. It’s very similar to the current political scenario. What do you think is better, to ask the President to resign or provide ways to help the President make the country a better place? “Ask not what the country has done for you but what you have done for your country”. The Philippine Blog Awards has ummm... problems but it can be resolved. If they make reforms then I believe (hope) this won’t happen again next year.
I got comments from a certain guy that our blog was kinda lame and that was the reason it didn’t get into the finals. Okay that’s fair. I’ll accept that and we promise to work harder to ensure that next year we provide better post and a lot more substance in our blogs. We owe everybody that, our readers, our members, and most especially ourselves. In line with this, I also believe that the Philippine Blog Awards owes every participating blogger that it be impartial in its judging and that it makes its rules strict for everybody involved.
I also believe that volunteers should not be involved in any contest but that’s just my personal opinion. It's not that I believe that volunteers will cheat or incur favors but its more of to remove any doubts on peoples minds.
Passion is a given. This is what drives the best bloggers out there. Money (or award) is a reward for our passion, it should never be our goal.
So what’s next for us petulant children you ask? I don’t know but knowing that someone is keeping tabs at us, I bet you’ll find out. Why not subscribe to GameOPS by Email?
P.S.
Does anybody know why there’s a baby scorpion in my soap dish and a spider on top of my PC? Thanks for reading and keep on blogging til it hurts. Hopefully my next entry will be about videogames and I can go about my non-existential, non-active blogger life. I'm so tired of clowns.
