Erick Pangilinan - Art Director at Naughty Dog
First all, sorry for disappearing for a relatively long time. After the Tokyo Game Show, I had to move out the dorm, and then school started, so I basically had no time for anything. There were still a lot of things about the Tokyo Game Show I wanted to talk about, but I just had no time. I actually still have more booth babes to post.
But anyway, back to the main topic... I recently got the the Japanese version of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and so far I think the game is definitely worth all the praise it's receiving. If you haven't noticed, as of this writing, it is the second highest rated PS3 game on Metacritic.
However, the reviews weren't what got me sold on this game. I had played the demo before and was drawn to the addicting multiplayer mode (especially the RPG deathmatch). And so, when I found an inexpensive copy on Yahoo Auctions Japan, I snatched it up.
After having played the first two chapters, I was curious to see what promotional downloads the PlayStation Store had for this game, and this led me to watch the first behind the scenes video for Uncharted 2.
In this video, several people involved in the development of the game were interviewed. One these developers was Naughty Dog's Art Director, Erick Pangilinan. Just by the name alone, you can tell that this guy is probably Filipino by origin. I'm going to try to get in touch with him and get an interview for GameOPS.
In the meantime, if you have a PS3 and a reliable internet connection, I highly recommend at least trying out the demo version of Uncharted 2.
