GameOPS Goes to Pinoy_Blogfest 1.0

GameOPS was invited by Gadgets Magazine Philippines to the Pinoy_Blogfest 1.0 last Saturday. Topic of the conference focused mainly on monetizing your blogs (Abe Olandres of Yugatech), bloggers as media practitioners (Ira Panganiban of Free Spits), and Crafting a Bloggers' Code of Ethics (Ms. Yvone Chua of Vera Files).

There's also break out sessions after the lunch break that include Technology Trends by Ms. Sandra Ziva Tubale, brand executive of Tricom Dynamics/Toshiba and Mr. Jerome Matti of Intel Philippines; Photography by Mr. Anntoni Cuesta of Canon Philippines; Home and Digital Living by Ms. Cyd Monteban of LG Electronics; Mobile Networking by Ms. Variane Faith Mijares, Product Marketing Assitant Manager for Mobile Communications of LG Electronics; Gaming by Mr. Jan Ellis Chua, Technical Marketing Specialist of ASUS Philippines and Mr. Jason Ty of Intel Philippines; Food and Travel / Health and Fitness by Mr. Christian Montesa, Sales Manager of Isukoshi Philippines and Chef Mikel Zaguirre of The Richmonde Hotel.

The first part of the conference rocked, especially when Abe Olandres showed the newbie bloggers his blog earnings. Ms. Yvonne Chua's discussion about the journalism ethical standards that bloggers should follow was also an eye opener. And of course, what can go wrong if Ira Panganiban is speaking? Nothing! His witty and informative remarks are still there, just like old times when he was still with ABS-CBN.

We also had the chance to meet new friends like fellow video game blog Back2Gaming of Vincent Haoson,  and the Tunay na Lalake gang (wapak nga yung Mushroom burger!). Jonel, Hannah, and Azrael were also there and a bunch of other bloggers.

But do you know what I liked most last Saturday? Holding Abe's iPad!
