Recently, players of Philippine Ragnarok Online were complaining that their GMs (Game Master) are posting the updates of the game in their own blog rather than posting it on the official website. Two GMs of Philippine Ragnarok Online are using their Game Master status to attract users to come to their site. Now, they even place game updates on their blogs rather than announcing it on Ragnaboards (the official forum of pRO) or on the official pRO site. Users now question the actions of these two GMs as what is their reason behind this.
After Maria Ozawa, I just spotted another hot Asian babe who plays Guild Wars: Chinese-Japanese model Naomi Cheung. She likes to dance in-game, so keep an eye out for her characters.

ASIAN Media Development Group’s (AsianMedia) move towards online games is welcome news for the Filipino gaming community which is hungry for quality online games. AsianMedia’s partnership with Korean gaming giant, NCsoft to distribute Lineage II in Southeast Asia opens doors for Filipino gamers to experience bigger and better games at their own terms.
As AsianMedia Chief Operating Officer, Ronald Allan Aquino comments, “Our extensive market research into local gaming behavior confirms that Pinoy gamers are ready, willing and eager to experience a higher caliber of gaming content.”
Lineage II, the medieval fantasy MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) has drawn millions of loyal fans worldwide to its combination of fantasy combat. Its unique social/ political/economic power struggles developed through the community and by the in-game actions of individual gamers are anticipated to appeal especially to Filipinos.
“Lineage II is an excellent game to spearhead our efforts towards continuously providing cutting-edge online games,” says Aquino. “Each new chronicle in Lineage II is truly massive in scope and offers new twists that will keep gamers immersed in the game.” Marketing to a Philippine Gaming Community
In a move to make the game accessible to more Filipino gamers, access to Lineage II’s Philippine servers will be available on a prepaid card system which will allow gamers to determine the amount of time they play Lineage II.
“For now, we’re focusing on the Pay-to-Play (P2P) business model as opposed to the Free-to-Play (F2P) model because P2P games tend to attract more gamers who are prepared to commit to the game and thereby develop a sense of loyalty to the brand,” says Aquino.
Although most online gaming in the Philippines is concentrated within Metro Manila, AsianMedia will market Lineage II throughout the Philippines by tapping its existing distribution network for popular PC games like Counterstrike and GuildWars among internet gaming cafes spread throughout the country.
“Lineage II has a unique community building component and it would not be farfetched to imagine competition among clans from different provinces as well as different countries like Malaysia and Singapore who will also be playing Lineage II from the same server,” he continues.
“In terms of content, we also believe that Philippine gamers are willing to pay for superior quality game content, something which Lineage II is already known for throughout the world,” adds Aquino.
With regular updates or expansions to the game, unceasing game content development, and frequent in-game promotional events to keep gamers on their collective toes, Lineage II is particularly suited for gamers who demand value for their money.
Lineage II also features greatly improved third-person 3D graphics thanks to the Unreal Engine developed by Epic Games.
“It is without a doubt, the most breathtakingly stunning and immersive Triple-A fantasy MMORPG in the market,” adds Aquino.
AsianMedia’s research into Philippine online gaming behavior revealed that a growing segment of the gaming community is in their early to mid-20s and more likely to play online games that feature realistic characters. They also expressed a desire for games with spectacular graphics and more challenging content: qualities which Lineage II delivers in spades.
“Although we’re keeping our options open towards other types of online games in the future, we’re confident that Philippine gamers will come to the world of Lineage II, decide to stay and experience the game of their life,” concludes Aquino.

Ragnarok players recently experienced a server merge. Mixed reactions were heard from the pRO community as their favorite server was shut down. I was a loyal RO player during the glorious days of Ragnarok Online. A dedicated follower of Loki and a champion of Oracles. I played sinc the open beta days and stopped just 2 years ago due to work. Now Loki is torn down together with the pioneer server Chaos where I experienced my happy moments in online gaming. Farewell to Loki my beloved server and farewell to Oracles my guild, my family.
Here is the updated mechanics of the server merge:
SERVER MERGE MECHANICS Date Posted: May. 04, 2007
Good day Rok Stars!
You’ve read about it on the forums, blogs, and various websites. However today it becomes 100% official! The pRO Team is happy to announce that the much talked-about Server Merge will finally happen on May 17, 2007! Servers will be down starting Midnight of May 16, and we are anticipating a 20-hour downtime while the Gravity Engineers, who flew all the way from South Korea, work on the servers. The Server Merge website will be up by Thursday, May 17, 2007.
SERVER GROUPING Chaos and Loki – BALDUR Odin and Fenrir – TYR Sarah, Iris, and Lydia – FREYA
The Server Merge website will contain English and Tagalog versions of the mechanics as seen below.
MAJOR CHANGES
The following features will be reset when the merge happens. This is unavoidable and all other countries who did the Server Merge experienced the same thing.
– Agit Ownership
– Agit Economy & Safeguard
– Alchemist Rankings
– Taekwon Rankings
– Blacksmith Rankings
– Aldebaran Race Track Rankings
– Warp Points (Acolytes, Priests, Monks, Champions, and High Priests)
– Godly Seal Quest
– Auction System
– Mail System
– KAFRA PIN
ACCOUNT SPLIT
There are three instances wherein your main account will be split. The first one is if you exceed the 5 character slot limit in any of the merging server groups. This means that the combined total of characters in Baldur, Tyr, or Freya must not exceed 5. Another is if you exceed the 300 kafra storage limit in any of the merging groups. This means that the total number of combined items in your kafra storage in any of the merging groups must not exceed 300. Lastly, you must not exceed the 30,000 limit for one item in the Kafra. More details on all three occurrences below.
CHARACTER SLOT LIMIT
If the sum of the total number of characters in any of the merging server groups in your account exceed the 5 slot limit, your account will be split. Newly created accounts due to split will have the same password and user details as the main account. The username will be the original username with the suffix: PRO00. The last 2 numbers at the end will increase per split account (PRO00, PRO01, PRO02, etc.).
This is an example of one instance of exceeding the 5 Slot Limit:
Carlo owns a Ragnarok account with the username carloroks. In his account, he has 2 characters in Chaos, 4 characters in Loki, and no characters in the other servers. The combined total of characters from both merging servers is 6, which exceeds the 5-slot limit. Because of this, Carlo’s account will split. His original username – carloroks, will get the characters from the server with the highest number of characters. In this case, it’s Loki (4). In case of a tie in the number of characters per server, the main account will get the characters from the older server (Chaos). The new account will be carloroksPRO00, and it will contain all characters from the Chaos server.
Username: carloroks (original)
Baldur – 4 Characters (Loki)
Username: carloroksPRO00
Baldur – 2 Characters (Chaos)
This is an example of multiple instances of exceeding the 5 Slot Limit:
Carlo owns a Ragnarok account with the username carloroks. In his account, he has 5 characters in Chaos, 4 characters in Loki, 5 characters in Fenrir, 4 characters in Odin, 4 characters in Sarah, 3 characters in Lydia, and 2 characters in Iris. The combined total of the characters in the respective server groups are as follows – Baldur (9), Tyr (9), Freya (9). All server groups exceed the 5-slot limit. Carlo’s main account – carloroks, will get the characters from the dominant servers (servers with more characters compared to their partners). At the end of the merge, Carlo will have the following accounts:
Username: carloroks (original)
Baldur – 5 Characters (Chaos)
Tyr – 5 Characters (Fenrir)
Freya – 4 Characters (Sarah)
Username: carloroksPRO00
Baldur – 4 Characters (Loki)
Username: carloroksPRO01
Tyr – 4 Characters (Odin)
Username: carloroksPRO02
Freya – 3 characters (Sarah)
Username: carloroksPRO03
Freya – 2 characters (Sarah)
ACCOUNT CHARACTER TRANSFER
On May 30, 2007, Gravity will upload a patch that will expand the character slots from 5 to 9. We can’t do this earlier because it is technically not feasible to do the Server Merge with more than 5 character slots. This is an unavoidable limitation of the system. However, after we do the merge, we will open the option of transferring characters from your split accounts into your main accounts. Stay tuned for more information on this one as the days go by.
KAFRA STORAGE LIMIT
If the sum of the total number of items in your Kafra Storage in any of the merging server groups in your account exceed the 300 limit, your account will be split.
In his account, he has 150 items in his Kafra Storage in Chaos, 160 in Loki, and no items in the other servers. The combined total of characters from both merging servers is 310, which exceeds the 300 limit. Because of this, Carlo’s account will split. His original username – carloroks, will get the kafra storage from the server with the highest number of characters or in case of a tie – the oldest. In this case, it’s Loki (4). The new account will be carloroksPRO00, and it will contain all items from the Chaos server.
Username: carloroks (original)
Baldur – 160 Kafra Storage (Loki)
Username: carloroksPRO00
Baldur – 150 Kafra Storage (Chaos)
This is an example of multiple instances of exceeding the 5 Slot Limit:
Carlo owns a Ragnarok account with the username carloroks. In his account, he has the following number of items in their respective Kafra storages: Chaos (150), Loki (160), Odin (50), Fenrir (260), Lydia (50), Iris (50), and Sarah (210). The combined total of the Kafra storage items in the respective server groups are as follows – Baldur (310), Tyr (310), Freya (310). All server groups exceed the 300 limit. Carlo’s main account – carloroks, will get the Kafra storages from the dominant servers (servers with more characters compared to their partners). At the end of the merge, Carlo will have the following accounts:
Username: carloroks (original)
Baldur – 160 (Chaos)
Tyr – 260 (Fenrir)
Freya – 210 (Sarah)
Username: carloroksPRO00
Baldur – 160 (Loki)
Username: carloroksPRO01
Tyr – 50 (Odin)
Username: carloroksPRO02
Freya – 210 (Sarah)
Username: carloroksPRO03
Freya – 50 (Sarah)
GAME TIME and ROK POINTS
Existing game time and rok points will be credited to the main account. Newly created accounts due to splitting will only have 2 hours of game time and they will be unlinked from your MYLU profile.
GUILDS WITH THE SAME NAME
Guilds with the same name from other baby servers will have the first two letters of their respective server inserted to the name as a suffix.
For example, there is Shadow Circle chaos and Shadow Circle Loki. After the merge, there will be two Shadow Circles. The first one (from chaos) will be Shadow Circle [Ch] and from Loki will be Shadow Circle [Lo].
CHARACTERS WITH THE SAME NAME
If a character name exists in multiple baby servers in a server group, the names will have a suffix added with the first two letters of their respective baby servers and a number starting from 00. If your name is unique to your server, you will not have a suffix and you will not have the option to change your name.
For example: there is a carlo in Chaos and Loki. The new names after the merge will be: Carlo_Ch00 and Carlo_Lo00.
All characters that are affected by the naming convention will get a chance to change their name once for 3 days. They will be automatically prompted by a window when they log-in Ragnarok and select their character after the Server Merge.
WHAT TO DO TO AVOID SPLIT ACCOUNTS?
To avoid split accounts, we strongly recommend that you take the following measures prior to the merge. This will make the merge smoother for you because you won’t need to worry about extra accounts.
1.) Make sure that the character total of your server groups does not exceed 5 (Chaos + Loki, Odin + Fenrir, Iris + Sarah + Lydia). We highly recommend that you delete nuisance characters that you’ve created in the past.
2.) Make sure that your total kafra per server group does not exceed 300 (Chaos + Loki, Odin + Fenrir, Iris + Sarah + Lydia). You can trade the various equipment in your kafra to other characters first or you can actually just throw useless items away.
If you want assistance in determining what to do or for more information on what will happen, please call our customer support hotline at 7519611. You can also send in a ticket through our customer support system asking questions about the merge.
People adore cute pets in real life...Wouldn't it be nice to have one in-game as well? That's probably the idea that brought about the start of RAN Online's Pet System. Players were already craving for info like the release date and type of pets as early as the demo video of the pet system came out. These adorable pets were release initially on RAN's test server. Players got to sample it for free including all the available skills, costumes, and accessories.
These in-game pets could be customized to have a name, a color, or costume that you like. Mix and match the color and accessories to your heart's desire. Aside from just being cute it also provides you with some in-game advantages. For instance, it has several skills like Auto loot Gold, HP recovery, etc. Pet types are Siberian husky, a turle, and a tiger. The Siberian Husky is the only pet type available at the moment. It looks fun to have one, but getting one is another thing. 1000pcs. were released initially and it didn't even took an hour before every last one of them were sold. Same goes for the 2nd release which numbered only 500pcs. and was sold out in as fast as 10 minutes. A third release is scheduled today after the server maintenance around 10:00 am. This time, 1000pcs. more will be made available. In case you miss it, I guess they would release another set if a lot of players request for more.
Knowing the hype with this pets, no matter how much will be released, I suppose if you want one, you really have to make a RAN for it! ^.~

If you haven't seen this guy yet, better head to YouTube and watch one of his videos. Hard Gay is teh coolness.
Razor Ramon Hard Gay (レイザーラモン HG, Reizā Ramon HG?, occasionally HG, Razor Ramon Sumitani or just Hard Gay) is the performing name of Masaki Sumitani (住谷正樹, Sumitani Masaki?), a Japanese comedian, wrestler and tarento ("talent"). His act gained national attention and popularity when featured on the "Bakushō Mondai no Bakuten!" (Daibakuten) Saturday variety show on TBS Television in Japan, in 2005. He should not be confused with American professional wrestler Scott Hall, whose use of the "Razor Ramon" stage name predates Sumitani's. Although the WWE has trademarked the name "Razor Ramon" they have not responded against HG using the name Razor Ramon HG.
Thanks to his persistence, Hard Gay's latest accomplishment is to be included within the Japanese version of online golf game Pangya. All the familiar "HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" and "Say say say..." expressions are immortalized within the game. And you can even buy Hard Gay items! I wonder if Level Up! Games would also offer them here :~)

I am not a fan of these online games but Glen insisted that I install Freestyle on my newly revived desktop. After downloading and updating the installer, the game won't start. My desktop computer has Windows Vista installed and the first error I encountered was a DLL permission error. This error is normal since Microsoft has decided to embed a lot of stupid and time consuming "security" measures for their new OS. I ran the program again as an administrator thus eliminating the DLL permission error. The next error I got was with Hackshield. Something like, "problem in antihacking function detected..."
I've visited the Level Up! boards and Googled a view sites that lead me to HackShieldSucks.com. It seems that Hackshield is not fully compatible with Vista. Being persistent, I emailed Level Up! for assistance and attached a screenshot of the exact error I got with all the exact details. Here's the reply I got:

You can already see from the screenshot that the game won't even run. Haaay... techsupport... *whistles*
After banning several keywords and websites, the Chinese government has again issued a new directive, this time, restricting online playtime.
Internet game operators have been ordered to install anti-addiction software on their games to help youngsters stay offline.
The government yesterday issued a regulation, which takes effect on April 15, demanding online operators set up a "game fatigue system" that encourages players under 18 to play less than 3 hours a day.
Online gamers will also be required to register using real names and identity card numbers to indicate if they are younger than 18.
Experts said the move reflects government fears over the social impact of popular online games, which have been blamed for the rising numbers of school children playing truant or even committing crimes.
Under the system, known as the "anti-online game addiction system", the first 3 hours of play for each day is considered "healthy", during which players will be awarded full points in the virtual world. The next 2 hours will yield only half the normal points and there will be no points after 5 hours.
After the 5-hour limit, players will be subjected every 15 minutes to the warning: "You have entered unhealthy game time, please go offline immediately to rest. If you do not, your health will be damaged and your points will be cut to zero."
All the online games run in China, including the Massive Multi-player Online Role Player Games (MMORPG) operated by NASDAQ-listed companies such as Shanda, NetEase and The9 and other games like those run by Tencent, will have to abide by the rule.
According to the regulators' timetable, online game operators will have up to four months to install the system; and games not embedded with the software by July 16 will be shut down.
Zhao Yurun, a spokesman for The9 that runs World of Warcraft in China, said yesterday the system will not have a great impact on the company since a majority of its players are adults.
Other companies, including Shanda and NetEase, also said the impact will be limited.
Last year, there were 31.12 million online game players in China. Of them, about 10 percent were below 18, said Kou Xiaowei, deputy director of the audio-visual and Internet publication department of the General Administration of Press and Publication, one of the eight government departments that released the regulation.
Although online game operators do not regard the system as a drain on revenue, experts said it was the real-name registration policy that may pose a real threat to game operators.
"The system requires every online player to register with their real identity. This will scare away many adult and young users," said Liu Bin, chief analyst at research house BDA China.
Official statistics show that the number of Internet users in China reached 123 million in mid-2006. About 15 percent - or 18 million - were under the age of 18.
GW gamers, including me, gasped as the news for the upcoming expansion and sequel was revealed by ArenaNet.
