I was suspended for breaking the "law" of the forum for using an oversized sig

Their "law" stated that:

Signature Rules:

-Should not have dimensions exceeding 500 x 200 pixels (500 pixels width, 200 pixels height).
-Should not be larger than 80kb.

This is my sig

I already changed it to comply with their rules, but Chocolate Milkshake suddenly came from nowhere and suspended me

http://ragnaboards.levelupgames.ph/index.p...;f=19&id=20

I already warned you once by editing your signature. You were suspended for bringing the oversized image back. smile.gif

I hope you won't have any hard feelings on this. (And besides, I can suspend you right now for violating the above rule and for evading your suspension, so I'm begging you - please comply.)

I posted on a 2nd account this

LOL

I said no lame reasons

the mod suspended me because of my sig

I changed the dimensions and the size to comply with your "law" and I did that like 3 weeks ago? no other mods or GM gave a damn about it, so why now?

She replied

I don't really know why would it be necessary to just leave it as is. But the important thing is... You were notified, right? smile.gif

If ever there's a good reason to unban you (okay, don't give me that "that GM is advertising" reason, see first paragraph), then okay -- I will. Probably, it's just an alibi or an excuse, probably it's the real thing, but... You see, I cannot just do what you guys like, since all of us have our own limitations.

*sigh* Guess I can't please everyone. ^_^

Was it really about the sig? So it was 16 pixels larger, she didn't noticed the other sigs which is much larger than mine? The one with 2 sigs?

Before the suspension, I was commenting on the post of GM Tristan III by promoting his blog on Ragnaboards via Midgard Congress section, which is a lame excuse of getting hits on his blog

I'm not a fan of Apple Mac but when I saw that Macbook Air , I forgot I was a Microsoft fanboy!. Come on, do you see that thin notebook? Heck, maybe it's as thin as a potato chip! It's like a mammoth trampled over that piece of gadgetry! For a price of $1799 dollars, You'll have on your hands the worlds thinnest notebook! See the pictures after the jump!

I found this at geekculture.com

What situation would the World's Thinnest Notebook most excel at?

  • Fixing a wobbly table at a restaurant.
  • If the cookie jar was just .16 inch out of your reach!
  • Makes a fine serving tray.
  • Doormat?
  • Slipping into the World's Fattest Guy's pocket.
  • Causing my drool gland to overwork

LOL!

Recently, players of Philippine Ragnarok Online were complaining that their GMs (Game Master) are posting the updates of the game in their own blog rather than posting it on the official website.

Two GMs of Philippine Ragnarok Online are using their Game Master status to attract users to come to their site. Now, they even place game updates on their blogs rather than announcing it on Ragnaboards (the official forum of pRO) or on the official pRO site. Users now question the actions of these two GMs as what is their reason behind this.

There's no sidetalking here, but instead a new image for Nokia's N-Gage. After failing to capture some chunks of Nintendo's handheld market, Nokia decided to lay the smackdown on their N-Gage hardware and converted it to a download portal of games for their latest line of smartphones.

Starting in November 2007, N-Gage will be compatible with these phones:
- Nokia N73
- N81
- Nokia N81 8GB
- Nokia N93
- Nokia N93i
- Nokia N95
- Nokia N95 8GB

Nintendo, Sony, and Electronic Arts will all be present on this year's Games Convention Asia, with game titles and consoles on display.

Sony will display several PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable titles, while Nintendo will be using the event to launch the Wii console in the territory.

EA will also showcase over 15 titles on both PC and console, including Crysis, FIFA 08 and Rock Band.

Other publishers exhibiting games at the event will include Blizzard, 10tacle, Nokia NGage, AMD and Asiasoft.

Does this mean we'll get Sony and Nintendo to launch the PS3, PSP, Wii, and DS here in the Philippines? The Philippines is part of the upcoming conference that will be held in Singapore this September.

According to the press release from Nintendo of America, Mexican authorities have confiscated 15,000 counterfeit Nintendo products from a market in Guadalajara, Mexico.

August 17 2007 - Mexican authorities conducted raids today against 12 alleged distributors of counterfeit Nintendo® products in a major "fayuca" (contraband) market in Guadalajara. Authorities seized 15,000 counterfeit Nintendo products, including 4,500 counterfeit Wii™ game discs.

The Guadalajara raids follow other Nintendo actions in Mexico during the past few months. Last month, Nintendo worked with customs agents to stop a shipment of more than 5,500 counterfeit Nintendo products entering Manzanillo, exported from China. Prior to that, Nintendo assisted local authorities in a raid of the San Juan de Dios market in Guadalajara, where 23 stores were shut down and more than 56,000 counterfeit Nintendo products were confiscated, including 11,000 counterfeit Wii discs.
"Mexico is Nintendo's largest market in Latin America, where the problem of video game piracy is widespread," said Jodi Daugherty, Nintendo of America's senior director of anti-piracy. "Since January, Nintendo has worked with law enforcement agencies worldwide to seize 100,000 counterfeit Wii games."

Earlier this month, U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents executed 32 federal search warrants in 16 states as part of an investigation into the alleged sale and distribution of illegal Wii modification chips designed to circumvent the security embedded in the hardware and allow users to play counterfeit Wii software.

Nintendo and its developers and publishers lost an estimated $762 million in sales in 2006 due to piracy of its products.

If you haven't heard it yet, some guys got irked when our Wii-GameCube article reached GamePro. One reasoned that our article could have affected how Microsoft, Nintendo, and other companies would deal with gamers in the Philippines. Blocking of credit cards, IPs, and racial discriminations are just the few effects our article has "supposedly" caused...
Posted by AngelsCircle

If you haven't realize it yet? Our gaming is affected by that article. Microsoft block our locally issued credit card in buying in xbox live marketplace and our IP are recognized already to be block in downloading video medias because they do not trust us anymore. That article reaching gamepro website will have an impact on Wii gamers using their credit card to pay for Virtual Games downloadable and other things an ordinary Nintendo Gamers usually have.

How many gamers in xbox live will have a negative feedback on their gamertags once the other foreign players learned they are filipinos because they have bad impression of us because some articles like that stating we are modders and we are reverse engineer even most of us are not? An article like that has a greater impact against xbox gamers locally than those of Nintendo gamers because of the online persecution are extended thru audio means also in xbox live.

Damage has been done and all of us has to live with it now, Another nail to our crosses and another nail for the coffin of our gaming recognition with Halo 3 is coming to the xbox and more online games coming for the Nintendo with our country is listed as one of the location that can be chosen as seen in Pokemon Battle Revolution but all of that will hang in balance after that articles impact.

Well this raid in Mexico doesn't affect my relations with my Mexican online buddies, and neither should yours. Regarding the blocking of credit cards, companies have been doing this before. Not just Microsoft. Heard or PayPal?

Game companies know how rampant piracy is in Asia, and our simple article wouldn't affect their decisions if they wanted to give official support to Philippine gamers or not. Nintendo knows how rampant piracy is in Mexico, so why do they still offer official support there?

This is possibly the first iPhone in the Philippines to work on a local network. We earlier posted a link to the procedure to clone your current SIM card to work with the Apple iPhone and apparently, the method works!

So if you have some spare 35,000 pesos, head over to Yugatech's blog and order one. We're also accepting iPhone gifts :~)

Fortune Magazine recently reported that the title "richest man on the world" is no longer held by the Microsoft founder Bill Gates but is now given to Carlos Slim Helu, owner of Telefonos de Mexico

Fortune Magazine said:

"By our calculations, the 67-year-old Slim has amassed a 59 billion-dollar fortune, based on the value of his public holdings at the end of July," Fortune magazine reported in its latest edition, due to hit newsstands this week.

"This number puts him just ahead of perennial number one, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, whose net worth is estimated to be at least 58 billion dollars.

Mexican financial website Sentido Comun reported last month that Slim had overtaken Gates, and put his personal fortune at almost 68 billion dollars.

"Gates is selling off his single greatest source of wealth, Microsoft stock, to fund his foundation, while Slim's fortune is growing at a stunning clip. His net worth jumped 12 billion dollars this year alone,"

Slim's family holdings represented more than five percent of Mexico's gross domestic product last year and companies under his control make up one third of the Mexican stock market, according to Fortune.

Slim's holdings include banking, automotive and especially telecoms interests. His Telefonos de Mexico controls 92 percent of Mexico's phone lines

Globe Telecom has just changed their logo from nice to worse. Just look how cluttered the new logo is!

They even spent millions of pesos just to promote their "new" brand on ABS-CBN and GMA-7's primetime spots. Globe Telecoms has also revamped their website's look and how the information is organized to match Smart Communication's new website.

Hey Globe, just give us P10/30 min rates for 3G/GPRS browsing and improve the capabilities of our MMS, just like with the ability to receive emails on our MMS emails. Smart has done that, why won't you?

AND PLEASE OPEN YOUR INTERNET APN TO US PREPAID SUBSCRIBERS!

After the large demand of Wii and Nintendo DS, Nintendo is now ranked 5th Largest Company in Japan overtaking NTT and Honda.

According to YAHOO! News:

TOKYO (Reuters) - Nintendo Co. Ltd. (7974.OS) zipped passed telecoms giant NTT (9432.T) and a major financial group to become Japan's fifth-biggest company by market value on Thursday, propelled higher by a stellar earnings performance on demand for its Wii and DS game gear.

By mid-afternoon Nintendo's stock had climbed 8.1 percent to 614,000 yen, adding to a 3.5 percent gain made on Wednesday after its earnings announcement.

Nintendo lifted its annual outlook above market expectations after quarterly operating profit more than tripled, as its strategy to expand the gaming population to women and the elderly paid off handsomely.

Offering innovative and easy-to-play games, the company's DS handheld player and Wii console have outsold rival Sony Corp. (6758.T) and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) machines in recent months.

Its market value now stands at 8.69 trillion yen ($72 billion), outstripping Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (8316.T), NTT or Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (9432.T), and Honda Motor Co (7267.T) which had placed higher in the rankings only a day before. It shot past Sony last month.

The Kyoto-based company revised up its operating profit forecast by 37 percent to 370 billion yen ($3.1 billion) for the year to March 2008, topping a consensus of a 305 billion yen profit in a poll of 20 analysts by Reuters Estimates.

It also lifted its annual dividend forecast to 960 yen from an earlier estimate of 700 yen.

Nintendo's DS lets users control play with a stylus instead of manipulating a keypad, while the Wii, which competes with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360, comes with an unusual motion-sensing controller that can be swung like a bat or a sword.

The creator of such game characters as Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong raised its sales forecast for the Wii by 18 percent to 16.5 million units for the current business year, while lifting its DS sales target by 18 percent to 26 million units.

So Nintendo, can you now have a price cut with your Wii Consoles? please ^^

The widespread piracy of films, music and video games is forcing many international companies to have second thoughts on manufacturing software in the Philippines, a Sony Corp. executive said.

"Piracy is the big concern and this is the reason why we cant do business here," said Hiroaki Kobayashi, president and managing director of Sony Philippines.

"I think its also the problem of other companies," he said, citing the widespread availability of pirated versions of movies, audio products, video-games and computer software.

He said this was why Sony would not even import copies of video-games for their popular Playstation Portable (PSP) into the Philippines.

Kobayashi said he could not say just how much the industry lost to piracy saying: "Its very difficult to quantify."

The International Intellectual Property Alliance said the loss to US copyright industries in the Philippines in 2004 was 139 million dollars. Pirated versions of movies, music and software are widely available in many shopping malls in the Philippines despite numerous complaints from companies and foreign governments.

Kobayashi said Sony hardware, however, continues to enjoy success in the Philippines with its widescreen televisions, digital video cameras and bluetooth headphones all getting increases in sales.

He estimated sales in 2006 amounting to 4.4 billion pesos (90.2 million dollars), up from 3.5 billion pesos in 2005.

No, it wasn't Raiden's fault. Brazilian gamer Aguinaldo César Alves was struck by lightning the other day while playing Mortal Kombat in his Super Nintendo Entertainment System. He was teaching his 8-yr old cousin a move when the lightning struck him and knocked him unconscious. He's ok now and didn't sustain any major injuries. Just a burned SNES.

So next time you'll be teaching younglings some M-Rated games, prepare to be zapped by lightning :P

A recent survey from 1,500 US children and teens 10-19 years old showed that adolescent gamers spent 30 percent less time reading and 34 percent less time doing their homeworks than their non-gaming counterparts.

The study showed both groups spend a similar amounts of time with parents and friends, but homework was something else, WebMD.com reported.

"Although gamers and non-gamers did not differ in the amount of time they spent interacting with family and friends, concerns regarding gamers' neglect of school responsibilities (reading and homework) are warranted," the researchers said.

The survey also showed that the participants played video games an hour on weekdays and 90 minutes on weekend days.

I won't speak for Rocky but when we were still in school, I don't play video games. Just some TV and lots of reading, reviews and homeworks. It's just a matter of discipline and self control ;)
