Well, our DPA was correct. After informing GameOPS of the new Gold and Rose Red Nintendo DS Colors 2 weeks ago, Nintendo officially announced the new Nintendo DS Lite bundles.

These bundles are limited so no one knows how long they'll be around. Must get my hands on those gold DS. *drools*

We've earlier posted a report from our DPA inside Nintendo that the Onyx Nintendo Wii and five (5) new colors for the US Nintendo DS Lite are coming. So far, no release dates have been announced until today.

Our source has informed GameOPS that Nintendo of America is set to release 2 new colors of the Nintendo DS Lite before December 2007.

The colors you ask? Our DPA said, Gold and Rose Red. :~)

A very reliable source (and I mean reliable) deep inside Nintendo's Redmond Headquarters has informed GameOPS that the Onyx Nintendo Wii is coming soon... very soon.

There will also be five (5) new colors for the American Nintendo DS Lite. Our source hasn't mentioned the release date of the Onyx Wii and the new colors of the DS Lite.

Stay tuned at GameOPS or subscribe to our feeds to get the latest in your inbox.

Remember those cheap water games our moms used to buy us when we're still kids? Well apparently, those toys are still being manufactured. This time, instead of boring looking cases, they're now housed on a case that resembles a Nintendo DS.

Very simple toy. Just press the button to generate some bubbles and get the coin, bricks, rings, or whatever is inside to a pole or hole.

If you want to get electronic, then grab yourself one of this mini DS-like brickgame called Revolve Game or simply RG. Don't expect to play 3D games though. They're similar to those brickgames sold a few years back that includes 20+ brick based games (racing, pong, tetris, etc.)

They also come in different colors! The RG costs 580 Yen or roughly 237 Philippine Pesos at rakuten.co.jp

And of course, the ever popular (and crappy) Neo Double Games that was made popular by Dr. Ashen. I think this crap has a "Lite" version. Haven't seen one yet here. May I'll drop by at 168 Mall tomorrow. :~)

Nintendo of Japan just released a new add-on for the Nintendo DS. The device which looks like an optical mouse, plugs directly into the GameBoy Advance slot of the DS. It basically allows you to slide your DS on a flat surface just like a mouse. The device is bundled with a new game called Slide Adventure: Mag Kid.

The DS add-on retails for ¥5,800 (approx Php2,240). Better buy additional Pledge cleaners to remove those table scratches :P Official commercial of the peripheral after the jump

If the gamers over the land of the free are having a hard time to find a Wii, the gamers here in the Philippines can have all the Nintendo Wii they want. Whether it's a Japanese or US version, Greenhills' V-Mall have them.

Filipino gamers also have a wide variety of colors to choose from for their Nintendo DS. Just like the Japanese exclusive Nintendo DS lite Sky Blue. Best of both worlds :)

Only downside is the Wii consoles are priced way way higher than the SRP of $249. Each console retails for atleast P16,000 (approx US$355) or more.

According to a survey conducted by Gametart in UK, girls who play video games (particularly Nintendo DS) have more sex that girls who don't.

It’s official – women who play video games have sex more often! Gametart, the UK’s largest online games rental company, carried out the survey throughout January to see how the recent influx of the likes of Pink PSPs and DS Lites would affect gamers’ sex lives across the country.

The results were surprising.

Of our sample of 200 women, those who played video games on average had sex 4.3 times a week while those who didn’t play games only had sex just 3.2 times a week.

Perhaps even more promising for gamers is the fact that many of the women that we interviewed who have only recently started playing games said that they now have sex more often than before.

Gamers have never had it so good!

Well, we all know that hot Japanese AV idol Maria Ozawa owns a pink Nintendo DS and a pink PStwo.

I wonder if other Japanese AV stars play video games... Oh, how about the 90% of the featured gamers we have here on GameOPS?

Hi Sofie :~)

Pirates 'R Us is new feature from Team GameOPS. It chronicles our adventures as we search the Metro for pirated video games. For our first feature, let's visit one of the biggest toy store in the world.

Micael sent a photo to the GoNintendo staff showing pirated Nintendo DS games being sold in one of the largest toy store in the world. "Normally", these pirated games are not sold (as we first thought of) at the big malls. You'll usually find them on sidewalks and small shopping malls but not with the likes of SM, Robinson's or Ayala Malls. The GameOPS crew were not able to verify the photo from Micael since the only branch of that store was located a few miles away.

The Triangle North of Manila or Trinoma Mall recently opened at the corner of North Avenue and EDSA (infront of SM City North EDSA) in Quezon City and fortunately, that certain store also opened a branch inside that mall. We decided to check the games being sold and behold! Lot's of pirated Nintendo GameBoy Advance and Nintendo DS games in the open!

Click the images to enlarge

To give others an idea on how much these pirated games cost, the current exchange rate is $1.00 US Dollars = P46.72 Philippine Peso.

We were the first to show you how the pirated Nintendo Wii games are being sold in Quiapo. Now that's nothing new since Quiapo has been known to many for being the source of everything cheap and almost everything fake or pirated. Our government can't stop them and I don't know why.

Anyway, shopping malls in Metro Manila usually don't have these because of the strict policies of the mall owners. But behold! Just 1 hour of strolling in one of the biggest shopping malls in Quezon City yielded lots and lots of pirated games for different video game systems. For this post, let me show you the sheer number of available pirated Nintendo DS games being sold openly inside S* C*TY N**** ED**

The salesladies refer to these bootleg / pirated Nintendo DS games as Class A. This pirated Nintendogs game costs P1999.75 (approx. $42.0557 USD). This Nintendogs game is being sold openly the center of the main mall. Check out the Nintendo logo!

The pirated version of The New Super Bros. Game costs P1699.75 (approx $35.7466 USD). This game is being sold in front of the supermarket area.

A 4 in 1 Nintendo DS cartridge costs P2999.75(approx. $63.0862 USD) and is also being sold in the middle of the main mall.

Another video game store inside the mall selling lots of pirated Nintendo DS games. Most of them are 4 in 1 games.

All of these games are being sold just side by side with original game cartridges. Buyers without any knowledge may fall victim again with these scammers. Prices are almost the same and even the packages look like original. The only way to know is to ask the sales person and if they say it's a class A, then expect it to be pirated.

We'll post more pictures next time. We're still verifying the PSP games we saw if it's legit or not.

Glen has sent me a copy of the latest no$gba emulator the other week. He said that the latest version of the GBA emulator now features emulation for Nintendo DS ROMS and homebrews.

Here you could see Rocky trying out the New Super Mario Bros. game.

I have a Pentium 4 2.4ghz PC with 1GB of memory and still the CPU usage is maxed out to 100%. Overall, the opening sequence of Super Mario Bros. has glitchy 3D graphics while the gameplay speed is tolerable on my system. Glen reported that his Pentium 3 1ghz PC, the most mutated and stongest p3 PC you could ever see, can barely run the game.

After the brief test, we've deleted the Super Mario game and we won't tell you were we got it :P But instead, you may download homebrew games on pdroms.de

If the news "Maria Ozawa plays Guild Wars" is still a rumor, then the picture above definitely puts Maria Ozawa on the league of the hottest girl gamers around. I wonder what games she plays on that lucky Nintendo DS of hers. Nintendogs? Brain Age? Mario?

She looks like Angelica Panganiban in some angles without the added fats. *drooools*

Maria Ozawa is half-Japanese and half-French-Canadian.

She started modeling as Miyabi for the site shirouto-teien.com in June 2005, which resulted in several sets of photographs and two hardcore gonzo videos. She was then signed by the S1, an AV company that produces light hardcore pornography, premiering for them on October 7, 2005 with the video New Face. S1 had subsequently released one original video per month until February 2007.

She has also been featured in several S1 compilation videos including the company’s entry in 2006 AV Open, a competition between Japanese pornographic studios that aims deciding which studio can produce the highest selling video. The video that featured Maria Ozawa, among other AV idols Sora Aoi, Yua Aida, Yuma Asami, and Rin Aoki won the first place.

Maria Ozawa and S1 parted ways in early 2007. Along with Rin Suzuka and Rin Aoki, she moved from the safe, but popular S1 to a new startup company, Dasdas (DAS). On April 25, 2007, Dasdas released the first videos of the company, among which is a video of Maria Ozawa. This video contains scenes of rape, creampie, and physical torture, themes not featured in the light hardcore style of her S1 videos.

Besides, she has done a V-Cinema film, a photobook, and several glamour ("gravure") videos. [more]

It has been a trend recently that most of the successful titles in the console market are being ported to the handheld platform.

Nintendo and Sony are making their fans drool in excitement as some successful titles to whom most console gamers fell in love with. An example is Final Fantasy Tactics, a 10 year old game that was originally released on the Playstation last December 31, 1997 by Squaresoft (now Square-Enix) now being released on the PSP with multiplayer capabilities. Nintendo DS fans have their share of portable goodness, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is an "expansion" of Final Fantasy XII that was released by Square-Enix on the Playstation 2 console. Action hungry gamers need not fret. God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP promises a bloodfest jus like its console counterpart. As for the thrill seekers, Silent Hill Origins for the PSP will haunt your cold summer nights.

Buying a Nintendo DS and a Sony PSP is worth it if you see this lineup.

Happy Gaming!
