Showcase of the immortals

Reliving the historic confrontation between The Hulkster and The Giant

WWE is setting their sights towards their older fanbase, planning to turn them into cash cows with the power of nostalgia via their new video game named WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. And boy did it work, at least for yours truly.

The game features over 40 legendary wrestlers and managers, vintage presentation and locations, and arcade style gameplay.

I personally still prefer the guys back then as their characters (and costumes) were more colorful as opposed to the todays wrestlers, or should I say "superstars". They even manage to include the dude below, which is one of the most colorful wrestlers (figuratively and literally) in history for this game even though he has a widely publicized bad history with the WWE for years now. So extra props for the guys who made it possible.

"In my final meeting with the Gods from the heavens above, as they spoke to me and hit me with the power of the Ultimate Warrior, they told me 'Exit stage left! Exit stage right! There is no place to run; all the fuses in the exit signs have been burned out!'" - You can always count on this dude to say the darndest promos back in the day.

Confirmed Roster List:

- Andre The Giant
- Animal
- Arn Anderson
- Bam Bam Bigelow
- Big Boss Man
- Big John Studd
- Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
- Bret "Hitman" Hart
- "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith
- Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake
- Dusty Rhodes
- Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
- Hacksaw Jim Duggan
- Hawk
- Honky Tonk Man
- Hulk Hogan
- Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Wait, what? The current HHH sure, but Hunter Hearst "Blueblood" Helmsley? banging the boss' daughter sure has it's perks)
- Iron Sheik
- Jake "The Snake" Roberts
- Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart
- Jimmy Hart
- "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
- Junkyard Dog
- Kamala
- King Kong Bundy
- Koko B. Ware
- Michael Hayes
- Mr. Fuji
- Mr. Perfect
- Nikolai Volkoff
- Paul Bearer
- Ravishing Rick Rude
- Ric Flair
- Rowdy Roddy Piper
- Sgt. Slaughter
- Shawn Michaels
- Stone Cold Steve Austin
- "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
- The Rock
- The Ultimate Warrior
- Undertaker
- Yokozuna

If they could just work out some professional agreement to put "The Macho Man" Randy Savage in there, even though he and the WWE has some unknown personal issues up to this day (there are rumors circulating as to what it was but was never confirmed). He undoubtedly was still an important part of that era and to it's fanbase.

Another cool feature is that fans of the past who still appreciate the current WWE could also import modern day "superstars" from the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 game roster. Which means they can finally fulfill their dreams of stomping a mudhole on a virtual John Cena courtesy of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

With all that being said, the game is an automatic buy for me when it hits the stores on March 24th (on PS3 and XBOX360). If you guys are still not sure, you can always try the demo 1st. It's already out on the PSN and XBL.
