William Shatner Opens Up About Life and Legacy in New Documentary "You Can Call Me Bill"

William Shatner, the iconic actor best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek series, has recently opened up about his life and legacy in a new documentary titled "You Can Call Me Bill." The 91-year-old actor chose to take part in the project to reach out to his family after he's gone, and to show fans a more intimate and personal side of his life and career.

In an interview with Variety, Shatner explained that he turned down previous offers to do a documentary about his life, but felt that "You Can Call Me Bill" was the right fit because it incorporated audience participation. The film is directed by Alexandre O. Philippe and premiered at SXSW.

Shatner also spoke about his approach to legacy and the human experience. He believes that good deeds are what actually live on, rather than statues or graveyards. "If you do a good deed, it reverberates to the end of time. It's the butterfly effect thing. That's why I have done this film," he said.

It's heartening to see Shatner opening up about his life and legacy, and reminding us that our actions can have a lasting impact on the world. The documentary promises to give fans a deeper look into the life of a true Hollywood legend.
