Nothing's Next Flagship, Phone 3, Promises a Big Leap with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
Nothing has been stirring up a lot of buzz lately about its upcoming flagship, the Phone 3. This time, the London-based brand is pulling out all the stops by equipping it with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. It’s the first time Nothing is using a chip launched in the same year as the phone itself, making this upgrade feel extra fresh.
In a recent video, CEO Carl Pei shared that the Phone 3 will easily outshine the previous models. According to him, users can expect big boosts in speed and power, with the CPU said to be 36 percent faster, the GPU a massive 88 percent stronger and the NPU about 60 percent more capable. These numbers sound promising, especially for people who want their phone to handle AI features smoothly.
Pei explained that to keep up with better cameras, an improved design and a more responsive experience overall, they needed a top-notch chip. People spend so much time glued to their phones, so Nothing wants every part of the Phone 3 to feel balanced and quick.
Nothing is also teasing a bit of a design shake-up. A post on X hinted at the Snapdragon branding shown in a dot-matrix style, which might find its way onto the back of the phone. This comes after the brand announced it would drop its unique Glyph lighting system, so fans are curious about what’s replacing it.
Although Nothing hasn’t shared official photos yet, some leaked images suggest the Phone 3 might come in a clean white color and could feature a triple camera setup with an unusual lens layout. Interestingly, these leaks show no sign of the Glyph lights or the dot-matrix concept, but there seems to be a dedicated Essential Space button alongside the usual controls. Of course, leaks are never set in stone, so it’s worth waiting for the launch.
Fans won’t have to wait too long though. The Phone 3, along with Headphone 1, is set to be unveiled in London on July 1. Anyone curious about what Nothing has up its sleeve can register for updates on the company’s official website.
