Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto Files New Game Interface Patent

Eight months ago, Rocky and I were playing The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker when my Nintendo GameCube stopped reading the disc. Our attempts to revive the GameCube failed. Rocky even used an ocarina hoping to give my GameCube new life.

Last week, I decided to open my GameCube and eventually use whatever I've learned in school. Guess what, I managed to get my GameCube running again by just tweaking some potentiometers!

Yesterday, Rocky and I started playing Wind Waker again. But there's a major problem. We don't know what we're supposed to do or where to go. It took us 12 hours just to figure out that we forgot Medli inside one of the dungeons.

The problem we had may soon be a thing of the past as Nintendo's Creative Director Shigeru Miyamoto filed a patent on a new gaming interface. Called the "Kind Code", the new Nintendo patent would turn the video games into a cut scene-like movie wherein players can jump in and out of the action whenever they wanted to. Players will not be able to save the game this way but this opens up clues and hints whenever players get stuck.

If only they had this in Wind Waker, we wouldn't have waster 12 hours of our life wandering around Hyrule. :~)
