Yua Mikami Tries Jollibee for the First Time
Japanese celebrity Yua Mikami surprised her followers recently by sharing her first ever experience with Jollibee, the Philippines’ most iconic fast food chain. In a set of Instagram photos that quickly made rounds online, Mikami can be seen inside a Jollibee store, happily posing with food and the restaurant's signature red-and-yellow bee mascot.
In her caption, she asked her fans if they knew about Jollibee, showing her excitement over trying the brand for the very first time. Her genuine reaction and cheerful vibe in the photos won the hearts of both local and international fans. Filipinos, in particular, were thrilled to see such a well-known Japanese figure enjoying something so close to home.
For those who might not know, Yua Mikami has been in the spotlight for quite a while. Before entering the Japanese adult video (JAV) industry, she was part of the idol group SKE48 from 2009 to 2014. She then joined the well-known sexy idol group Ebisu Muscats in 2015 and later became a member of the K-pop inspired group Honey Popcorn in 2018. Mikami gained massive popularity as a JAV actress, building a strong fan base not only in Japan but across Asia. After eight years in the AV world, she officially retired in 2023 at the age of 30. Her final adult film was released on August 15, a day before her 30th birthday.
Mikami's influence didn’t end with her retirement. She ventured into business, launching several beauty brands including Majette (colored contact lenses), Miss Lash (eyelash serum), and Misshelly (hair products). She also appeared in video games like Yakuza 6 and Yakuza Kiwami 2, proving that her reach went far beyond the adult industry.
Seeing her explore Filipino culture in her own way is refreshing. Jollibee is more than just fast food in the Philippines, it’s a piece of childhood, a celebration of Filipino flavor, and a symbol of home for many. The fact that someone like Yua Mikami, who has lived such a colorful life in the spotlight, would stop by and enjoy a Chickenjoy or Jolly Spaghetti like the rest of us, makes her feel more relatable than ever.
Whether it’s a sign of her love for travel, her curiosity for other cultures, or simply a craving for something new, her visit to Jollibee is another reminder that good food really does bring people together, no matter where you’re from.
