Vanessa Hudgens To Explore Her Filipino Heritage in New Travel Documentary

Vanessa Hudgens is set to take fans on a cultural journey in her latest project, a travel documentary exploring her family’s Asian heritage in the Philippines. The as-yet-untitled documentary will feature Hudgens and her family as they travel through Palawan and Manila in March, showcasing her mother's birthplace and the country's vibrant culture. The documentary will be directed by Paul Soriano, whose filmography includes "Mañanita" and the Manny Pacquiao biopic "Kid Kulafu".

Hudgens, whose career began with Disney's "High School Musical" franchise, has since become a sought-after actress with credits including "Spring Breakers", "Gimme Shelter," and "Bad Boys for Life". She has also produced and starred in several Netflix films, including "The Princess Switch" series.

In a statement, Hudgens expressed her excitement for the project, saying, "I feel like ours is such a relatable story to so many women all over the world. The more that we can share, the more we can lift each other up." Soriano, who is also producing and serving as an executive producer for the documentary, added, "It’s inspiring to note that with everything she has achieved in life, she wants to discover her Filipino roots and pay homage to her mother’s country. Hopefully, this opens doors for many more collaborations to come.”

This documentary is yet to reveal its official distributor, broadcaster, or streaming platform.
