TVJ Returns to TV with "E.A.T." on TV5

The beloved Dabarkads from Eat Bulaga, known as Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon (a.k.a. TVJ), are back on TV with their exciting new show called "E.A.T." on TV5. The pilot episode aired on Saturday, July 1, and it was a heartwarming and festive event.

TVJ, along with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Maine Mendoza, Ryan Agoncillo, Ryzza Mae Dizon, and Carren Eistrup, received a warm welcome at their "new home" in the TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong. They performed some fantastic acts during the show, including songs like Sandwich's "Sugod" and the classic OPM hit "Ikaw Lang Ang Aking Mahal," written by Joey and composed by Tito under the group VST&Co.

Amid a trademark dispute with their former blocktime producer, TAPE, Inc., who still runs Eat Bulaga with new hosts, TVJ sang the iconic theme song "Isang libo't isang Tuwa," emphasizing the "E-A-T" part and avoiding singing "Bulaga."

The show's acronym "E-A-T" sparked some fun banter among the Dabarkads, with each of them giving their own meaning, such as "Eto Ang Totoo," "Everyday All Together," and "Everyday ang Tawanan."

The pilot episode was a special occasion, with avid fans gathering at the TV5 Media Center and watch parties organized in various locations. Notably, members of the Sotto clan, including Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Oyo Sotto, Pauleen Luna, Danica Sotto, and Kristine Hermosa, were present to support their beloved TVJ.

This marked TVJ's return to TV after parting ways with TAPE, Inc. on May 31, making the show even more meaningful. Additionally, the pilot episode coincided with It's Showtime's first airing on GMA Network's GTV channel and Eat Bulaga's "first monthsary" after the revamp.

Overall, the comeback of TVJ's legit Dabarkads on "E.A.T." was a delightful reunion filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments that left fans eagerly anticipating more episodes to come.
