Xbox Game Pass Says Farewell to Persona 5 Royal, and Gamers Like Me Are Disappointed
As a recent subscriber to Xbox Game Pass, I was excited to dive into the world of gaming without breaking the bank. The vast library of titles available on the platform seemed like a dream come true, and I couldn't wait to explore it. However, my excitement turned into disappointment when I discovered that one of the games I had been playing, Persona 5 Royal, is leaving the service on October 31.
Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that adds and removes games regularly, is unfortunately waving goodbye to Persona 5 Royal and four other titles at the end of October. This departure stings, as this beloved game requires over 100 hours to fully complete. For those like me who have recently joined Game Pass with the sole purpose of playing Persona 5 Royal, the timing couldn't be worse.
Persona 5 Royal is renowned for its exceptional quality. Critics have showered it with praise, with Metacritic scores ranging from 91 to 95. Its engaging story, deep character development, and immersive gameplay make it a must-play title. For those who haven't had the chance to experience it yet, the clock is ticking. However, there's a silver lining for Game Pass subscribers - you can purchase Persona 5 Royal at a 20% discount to keep it in your library even after it leaves the service, but make sure to do it before October 31.
Joining Persona 5 Royal in its departure from Xbox Game Pass are Gunfire Reborn, Kill It with Fire, Signalis, and Solasta Crown of the Magister. Unlike the extensive Persona 5 Royal, these games are more manageable to complete before the end of October.
- Gunfire Reborn offers a level-based adventure with FPS, Roguelite, RPG, and co-op elements.
- Kill It with Fire is an action-packed game where you hunt down and eliminate spiders by any means necessary.
- Signalis promises a classic survival horror experience.
- Solasta Crown of the Magister is a turn-based tactical RPG based on the SRD 5.1 ruleset.
While it's sad to bid farewell to these games, there's always something new on the horizon. Xbox Game Pass has already revealed some exciting titles for November, including PlateUp!, Thirsty Suitors, Football Manager 2024, Dungeons 4, Like a Dragon Gaiden, and Persona 5 Tactica. It's worth noting that the timing of Persona 5 Tactica's addition and Persona 5 Royal's removal seems somewhat peculiar, but Xbox Game Pass remains a gift that keeps on giving to its subscribers.
As a new Xbox Game Pass subscriber, the departure of Persona 5 Royal and other titles in October has left me disappointed. The clock is ticking, and I'll have to race against time to savor the extensive world of Persona 5 Royal. Nevertheless, Xbox Game Pass continues to offer a plethora of gaming experiences, and I look forward to exploring what's next on the horizon.
