Free Japanese Classes Open Again for QC Residents
If you've ever dreamed of learning Japanese, now’s your chance. Quezon City is once again offering free basic Japanese classes online, and it's open to any Filipino aged 18 and above. All you need is a stable internet connection and a device that can run Zoom, whether that’s a laptop, desktop, or even a smartphone.
The program, handled by the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL), isn’t just about learning the language. It also gives participants a glimpse into Japanese culture, etiquette, and everyday customs. It's a full beginner-friendly experience that includes lessons on vocabulary, grammar, useful daily expressions, and even the Japanese writing systems, Hiragana and Katakana.
This initiative has been around for a while and has already helped over 3,600 students complete the course. The last batch had 172 graduates. It's a great opportunity, especially for those who want to explore job opportunities abroad, travel to Japan, or simply pick up a new skill.
Enrollment is done through the QCPL website, and the slots are limited to 500 participants. So if you're interested, you’ll need to register as soon as possible, it’s first come, first served. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a confirmation email. But don’t forget to confirm your attendance within 24 hours, or your slot might go to someone else on the waitlist.
The next batch of classes is set to begin on June 19, and it's all made possible through a partnership with Jellyfish Education Philippines Inc.
It’s not every day you get to learn a new language for free. If you’ve got the time and interest, this might be the perfect start to your Japanese journey.
