Game Freak’s New RPG ‘Beast of Reincarnation’ Set for 2026 Release

The studio behind the iconic Pokémon games is taking a bold step in a new direction. Game Freak is diving into the action RPG genre with an upcoming title called Beast of Reincarnation, slated for release in 2026. This time, it's not about catching cute creatures, it's about surviving a mysterious and ever-shifting world.

The game follows a character named Emma and her loyal dog companion, Koo. Players will guide the duo through eerie landscapes where forests twist into wastelands and danger waits around every corner. As they journey deeper into the unknown, Emma and Koo grow closer, unlocking unusual powers fueled by their bond.

Beast of Reincarnation promises more than just exploration. The gameplay centers on skill-heavy combat that demands focus and precision. Judging by the first trailer shown at Xbox Games Showcase 2025, the action is fast-paced and intense, far from the turn-based battles fans may be used to from Pokémon.

Originally teased under the name Project Bloom, the game was supposed to be published by Take-Two’s Private Division. However, after that label was sold off, a new publisher named Fictions stepped in to handle the launch. The game is confirmed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S release.

With Game Freak stepping outside its comfort zone, Beast of Reincarnation looks like it could offer a fresh, gritty experience that fans of challenging RPGs might want to keep an eye on.
