Is a Ring Fit Adventure Sequel Coming to Switch 2? A New Nintendo Patent Has Fans Talking
It looks like Nintendo might be working on a new version of its popular fitness game, Ring Fit Adventure. A recently discovered patent for a new game controller has sparked speculation that a sequel could be in the works for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The patent was filed at the end of May 2025 and just became publicly available online, though the detailed images are still hidden. It’s officially registered under Nintendo and labeled as a controller accessory for video games. The most intriguing part? The name Fumiyoshi Suetake is listed as the designer, the same person who played a big role in creating the original Ring Fit Adventure back in 2019.
Evidence is mounting that Nintendo is developing a Ring Fit Adventure successor, and it might come sooner than you think. A thread:

For those who need a refresher, Ring Fit Adventure turned working out into an RPG adventure, with players using a flexible pilates ring to run, jump, and battle enemies. It was a surprise hit, selling over 15 million copies, especially during the lockdowns when people were looking for ways to stay active at home.
Suetake’s involvement in this new patent has many fans convinced that a follow-up to Ring Fit Adventure is on the horizon. Adding fuel to the fire, Nintendo also recently renewed the patent for the original Ring Fit controller, which suggests they still see value in protecting the design, possibly because an upgraded version is coming.
There’s also another interesting piece to this puzzle. Foxconn, a company that often works with Nintendo, has hinted at developing new “force sensing technology” for a gaming device. They even shared a diagram that closely resembles a new version of the Ring Fit accessory.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but all signs seem to point to a sequel in development. And with the Switch 2 reportedly launching soon, it wouldn’t be surprising if Nintendo is gearing up to bring back one of its most successful fitness titles with a fresh twist.
