MMDA’s New Website Makes Checking Traffic Violations Easier for Motorists
Motorists in Metro Manila now have a quicker way to check if they’ve been caught breaking traffic rules. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has rolled out a new website called May Huli Ka, which helps drivers check violations flagged under the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
MMDA chair Don Artes explained that this online service aims to make things more convenient for drivers. All they need to do is enter their vehicle’s plate or conduction number along with the motor vehicle (MV) file number. Right after hitting “Check,” any recorded violations will appear on the screen.
Unlike the older version of May Huli Ka, which only asked for a plate number, this updated site now requires the MV file number too. MMDA decided to add this extra step to protect vehicle owners’ privacy, since only they have access to this detail.
Artes also reminded everyone to double-check the details they enter. A small typo could show “No Record Found,” which might confuse users. He also noted that the site only covers NCAP-related violations, so other penalties might not appear there.
MMDA has more in store for motorists soon. Artes shared that they’re working on a mobile app version of May Huli Ka. Through this app, drivers will not just view violations but also watch video footage of the incident. The app will also offer fleet management, which will be handy for operators of public utility vehicles managing multiple cars.
A handy feature will let users dispute violations straight from their phones. Although there’s no exact launch date yet, the MMDA hopes to make the app available within the next month or two.
With traffic woes being a daily struggle for many in Metro Manila, tools like this website and the upcoming app can help lessen the hassle and keep everyone more aware of the rules on the road.
