President Marcos Launches Family Pass Promo for LRT and MRT Riders

Sundays just got a lot more family-friendly, and budget-friendly too, thanks to a new initiative led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Last weekend, he introduced the Family Pass 1+3 Promo, which allows four people to ride the MRT-3, LRT-1, or LRT-2 for the price of a single ticket.

The launch took place at the GMA-Kamuning station of MRT-3, where President Marcos highlighted the value of family time in Filipino culture. He emphasized how Sundays are traditionally seen as a day to relax, reconnect, and be with loved ones, and this promo is meant to support that.

Under the new promo, every Sunday, when a commuter purchases one regular train ticket, they can bring along three more companions for free. It's a straightforward way to make travel more affordable for families and barkadas looking to spend time together in the city.

According to the Department of Transportation, this move is part of a broader push to make public services more responsive to the day-to-day lives of ordinary Filipinos. The President had earlier directed officials to create programs that truly benefit citizens, not just in theory, but in their everyday experiences.

After taking a brief ride himself from Kamuning to North Avenue, President Marcos was joined by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, symbolizing that even the country’s top officials value simple joys like a family train ride.
