Anya Hindmarch’s reusable Universal Bag debuts at The Marketplace Philippines

If you love stylish finds that also do some good for the planet, here is something worth checking out. British designer Anya Hindmarch has officially brought her popular Universal Bag to the Philippines, and it is now available at The Marketplace Fresh.

The launch marks the first time the Universal Bag is being sold locally. The Marketplace also becomes the first retailer in the country to carry both sizes, the regular tote and the mini version. This puts the Philippines alongside other international locations where the bag is already available.

First introduced in 2021, the Universal Bag was created as part of Anya Hindmarch’s push for more sustainable everyday products. The bag is made from 100 percent recycled materials and can be recycled again after use. It is designed to be sturdy enough for repeated trips to the grocery, helping reduce single use plastic bags over time.

The project itself is a global collaboration with well known supermarkets around the world. The Universal Bag can already be found in stores such as Waitrose in the UK, Coles in Australia, FairPrice Finest in Singapore, and Seijo Ishii in Japan. With this launch, The Marketplace now joins that international list.

For local shoppers, pricing is fairly straightforward. The mini Universal Bag is priced at PHP 699, while the regular size costs PHP 899. Both versions will be available starting December in 38 The Marketplace stores nationwide.

Those planning to get one might want to do so sooner rather than later. Stocks are limited, and once they sell out, there is no guarantee of a restock.
