Wacom boosts MovinkPad creativity with ibisPaint X and free Prime access
Wacom is making its MovinkPad lineup even more appealing for digital artists with a new Android update focused on smoother workflows and added value. The update brings ibisPaint X directly to the MovinkPad series and tightens how it works with Wacom’s own creative tools.
The MovinkPad line is Wacom’s take on a portable, all-in-one drawing device. With models like the MovinkPad 11 and the larger MovinkPad Pro 14, users get a standalone pen display powered by Android, no PC required. This latest update strengthens that vision by making it easier to move between sketching, editing, and organizing artwork.
With ibisPaint X now pre-installed or updated on the devices, artists can open Wacom Canvas sketches straight into ibisPaint X or browse ibisPaint projects inside Wacom Shelf. File handling also gets a boost, as Wacom Shelf now supports ibisPaint’s native IPV format along with common image types. The result is a more natural flow from rough ideas to polished illustrations.
ibisPaint X is no small addition. The app has been downloaded hundreds of millions of times worldwide and is widely used by illustrators, comic artists, and hobbyists alike. By integrating it directly into the MovinkPad ecosystem, Wacom is clearly aiming to meet artists where they already are.
To sweeten the deal, Wacom is offering a free 180-day ibisPaint Prime Membership to all MovinkPad users, including existing owners. Prime access removes ads, expands cloud storage, and unlocks advanced tools like vector features, premium materials, fonts, and more detailed image controls. It lets users explore the full power of ibisPaint X right away, without extra cost.
Both Wacom and ibisPaint describe the update as part of a shared goal to give creators more freedom to draw anytime and anywhere. From beginners experimenting with digital art to seasoned illustrators who want a portable setup, the MovinkPad series continues to focus on flexibility and ease of use.
This update reinforces Wacom’s commitment to building tools that adapt to different creative styles, while keeping the experience simple, mobile, and artist-friendly.
