Pokémon Champions Launches on iOS and Android, Free Raichu Event Now Live
Pokémon fans can now take their battles anywhere. Pokémon Champions is officially available on iOS and Android devices, giving players another way to enjoy competitive Pokémon battles without needing a console. The free-to-play game is also available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
To celebrate the mobile launch, The Pokémon Company has kicked off a special in-game event featuring one of the franchise's most beloved Electric-type Pokémon, Raichu.
For a limited time, players can claim Raichu, Raichunite X, and Raichunite Y simply by checking their in-game mailbox. These special Mega Stones allow Raichu to transform into the newly introduced Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, giving trainers fresh strategies to try in battle. The giveaway is available until September 2, 2026, on both mobile and Nintendo Switch versions of the game.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners also have something extra to enjoy. A free update has been released for the new console, improving the game's visuals with sharper graphics. Players only need to connect to the internet and download the latest update to access the enhancements.
With support across mobile devices and Nintendo's latest consoles, Pokémon Champions makes it easier than ever to jump into quick competitive matches whether at home or on the go. The launch also marks another major step in Pokémon's 30th anniversary celebration, with more activities and announcements expected throughout the year.
Pokémon Champions is free to download now from the App Store and Google Play, while existing Nintendo Switch players can continue battling alongside mobile users.
