Globe Telecom held its "most expensive" party to date (according to CEO Ernest Cu) last October 6, 2010 at the NBC Tent in Bonifacio Global City. The party called Lucky 0917, is a tribute to the remaining 1724 pioneer subscribers of Globe Telecom since 1994. Lots of food and 70's music filled the night.
As a way of saying thanks to these loyal subscribers, Globe gave away limited edition white BlackBerry Bold 9700 handsets to 200 pioneer subscribers. They also raffled of additional 20+ BlackBerry handsets to people who registered at the venue and a few units to lucky couples.
Some of the notable people who won the raffle include, Philippine Vice President Jejomar Binay, Basketball superstar Robert Jaworski, Ma Mon Luk proprietor George Mamonluk, and AMA Education System president Amable R. Aguiluz V. Unfortunately, I didn't win :P
To those still holding their Globe 0917 numbers, be proud. Be proud to be one of the pioneers of GSM communication in the Philippines. "It's not just a number, it's a badge of honor," said Globe Telecom CEO Ernest Cu.
