X-Play (IP e-Games) files complaint against Datablitz

X-Play Online Games Inc. (a subsidiary of IP e-Games) has filed a complaint against Datablitz for selling unauthorized copies of games they exclusively distribute in the Philippines.

The Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Monday raided and seized the copies of the unauthorized games from Datablitz in Robinson's Ermita, Virra Mall, Greenbelt, and a few other branches in Metro Manila. The staff were also taken into the CIDG office for mugshots and further questioning.

Datablitz has been known to be one of the few stores in the country that sell legit copies of video games. The complaint stemmed from the original games being sold at Datablitz stores without the official sticker from X-Play.

X-Play is a joint venture of IP e-Games and GMA New Media  and is the exclusive distributor of games from Blizzard Entertainment and Take Two Interactive in the Philippines.
