Gilas Pilipinas was beaten by France, 93-84, in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) Tuesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. France was down in the first quarter but managed to regain their balance. Gilas made a run in the final five minutes, closing within four points, 81-85.
But the French scored eight straight points to seal the victory.
The Philippines needs to win their next game against New Zealand to get a shot at the Rio Olympics. Only one slot is at stake in the qualifying tournament.
