Nintendo Adds Four Classic Game Boy Titles to Switch Online

Nintendo is showing some love to retro gaming fans once again. If you're subscribed to the basic tier of Nintendo Switch Online, there’s a little surprise waiting for you: four more Game Boy and Game Boy Color games just dropped into the Classics library.

Let’s break it down. The new additions include:

  • Gradius: The Interstellar Assault – A side-scrolling space shooter from Konami that originally launched in the early ‘90s. It’s fast-paced, fun, and perfect if you’re into classic arcade-style gameplay.

  • Survival Kids – A hidden gem from 1999 where you take on the role of a child stranded on a mysterious island. It’s part survival game, part adventure, and totally unique for its time.

  • The Sword of Hope – An RPG by Kemco that mixes old-school storytelling with dungeon crawling. Originally released in 1989, it’s one of the early handheld attempts at the genre.

  • Kirby’s Star Stacker – A 1997 puzzle game that’s all about matching stars and enjoying some lighthearted fun with everyone’s favorite pink puffball.

Gamers in Japan got the same four titles this week, so it’s a worldwide update. And if you're keeping up, this drop comes right after Nintendo added Killer Instinct Gold to the Nintendo 64 library for those subscribed to the higher-tier Expansion Pack.

It’s cool to see Nintendo keep feeding the nostalgia. With each new batch of retro titles, the library becomes a richer collection for longtime fans and newcomers who want to explore gaming history.
