Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7: What We Know So Far Before Unpacked 2025

Samsung’s next Unpacked event is just around the corner, scheduled for July 9, and all signs point to the official debut of its latest foldable phones: the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, leaks and rumors have already painted a pretty clear picture of what’s coming. Here’s a roundup of the most notable ones.

Sleeker, Lighter Designs

One of the few things Samsung has confirmed is that these new foldables will be thinner and lighter than previous models. A leak suggests the Z Fold 7 could measure just 8.9mm when folded and 3.9mm when opened. That’s a notable drop in thickness from past models, which should make the device easier to carry.

As for looks, early renders show that the Z Flip 7 will have a slightly larger cover display and may come in a new red color variant. There’s also talk that the Fold 7 could swap the under-display selfie camera for a punch-hole design on the inner screen.

Possible Hardware Upgrades

Rumored specs are still scarce, but one detail from an FCC listing hints that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset. That would put it on par with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of raw power. It’s still unclear if the Z Flip 7 will use the same chip.

When it comes to the camera, a report from Galaxy Club claims that the Fold 7 might get a huge upgrade—a 200MP main camera, compared to the 50MP lens found in last year’s model.

Big News on Pricing

Here’s something unexpected: the Z Flip 7 might actually be cheaper than its predecessor. According to German tech site WinFuture, the Flip 7’s starting price in Europe could drop by €100.

Here’s a breakdown of the leaked European prices:

Galaxy Z Flip 7 (Rumored Prices):

  • 256GB: €1,099 (around ₱68,700)
  • 512GB: €1,219 (around ₱76,200)

Galaxy Z Fold 7 (Rumored Prices):

  • 256GB: €1,999 (around ₱125,000)
  • 512GB: €2,119 (around ₱132,400)
  • 1TB: €2,359 (around ₱147,400)

It’s great news if the Flip 7 launches at a lower price point, especially with rumors that a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (Fan Edition) might also be on the way. The important bit? Samsung reportedly won’t hike the standard Flip 7’s price just to make the FE model seem like a deal. That’s a relief.

Pre-Order Perks

Samsung hasn’t officially opened pre-orders yet, but the reservation page is already live on their website. You can sign up early and get bonus perks without committing to a purchase just yet. That’s a smart move if you’re thinking of upgrading to one of the new foldables next month.
