Stellar Blade Team Gifts Staff a Switch 2, Fueling Rumors of a Nintendo Switch 2 Version

Fans of Stellar Blade have more to get excited about as fresh rumors hint at the action hit possibly landing on Nintendo’s next-gen console. The buzz started when Korean developer Shift Up, the studio behind the game, gave out Nintendo Switch 2 consoles to over 300 employees to celebrate Stellar Blade reaching over three million copies sold on PlayStation 5 and PC.

This isn’t the first time the team has thanked its staff in style. Earlier this year, when Stellar Blade crossed another sales milestone, Shift Up surprised all 311 team members with PS5 Pro consoles plus a cash bonus. This time, it’s the Switch 2 making waves within the company.

A representative from Shift Up shared that the generous giveaway is part of how they reward top-performing employees and create a positive work environment. Naturally, fans can’t help but wonder if this move hints at an official Switch 2 port.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Korean gaming outlets report that Shift Up may already have a Switch 2 development kit and could be testing Stellar Blade for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware. Though the studio has not confirmed anything directly, their recent financial statements show a clear plan to expand the game to more platforms.

Originally launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in April last year, Stellar Blade later arrived on PC too. Despite Sony publishing the title, Shift Up retains the IP rights, giving them flexibility to bring the game elsewhere, just as Kojima Productions did with Death Stranding.

While Stellar Blade demands high-end graphics, it wouldn’t be the first ambitious game on Nintendo’s new console. Big titles like Star Wars Outlaws are also lined up for the Switch 2, showing that developers are ready to stretch the hardware’s capabilities.

Aside from Stellar Blade, Shift Up is busy with a new project known for now as Project Spirits, planned for PC and mobile in 2027.

Whether or not Stellar Blade officially joins the Nintendo family, this bold reward hints that Shift Up is committed to both its people and giving fans more reasons to get hyped.
