Palawan Gets Ready for Smarter, Greener Transport with Xpress Super App
After making waves in Boracay, the Xpress Super App is heading to Palawan in late 2025 with plans to bring a better, more efficient transport system to some of the island’s busiest and most visited areas. Coron, El Nido, and Puerto Princesa are all part of the upcoming rollout, and if Boracay is anything to go by, Palawan might be in for a transportation upgrade that’s both high-tech and community-centered.
What made Xpress successful in Boracay wasn't just its technology. It was how the company worked hand-in-hand with local government units (LGUs), operators, and residents to design a system that fits island life. They didn’t just drop an app in and call it a day. They took time to understand how things moved, literally and socially, on the island.
In Boracay, Xpress introduced e-trikes, trained local drivers to use digital tools, and tackled congestion without disrupting the local rhythm. The results spoke for themselves: locals and tourists used the service regularly, traffic issues became easier to manage, and driver incomes became more stable through digital bookings.
Now Palawan is next.
With the same collaborative approach, Xpress is teaming up with LGUs in Palawan to develop mobility programs that fit each area’s needs. That includes digital onboarding for drivers, improved transportation for barangays that are harder to reach, and better flow of tourists in hotspot areas.
More than just rides, the Super App aims to become an all-in-one platform. In the near future, tourists may be able to book rides, ferry transfers, and hotel stays all in one place. For travelers, that means fewer hassles. For locals, it means more income opportunities.
Xpress isn’t just expanding. It’s trying to prove a bigger idea, that modern, green, and community-built transportation systems are possible even on small islands. And when transportation works well, it helps everything else move better too, from tourism and business to daily life.
With Palawan being one of the Philippines' top destinations, the timing couldn’t be better.
