nubia NEO 5 Series Launch Turns SM Megamall Into a Gaming Playground
nubia Philippines did not hold back when it introduced its newest gaming smartphones. Instead of a simple product reveal, the brand turned the SM Megamall Fashion Hall into a full-on gaming event with its “Enter the NEOverse: Born To Win” launch.
The venue quickly filled with gamers, cosplayers, and tech fans, all checking out interactive booths and game-inspired stations. It felt more like a mini convention than a typical phone launch, with activities designed to let people experience the features of the new devices in a fun way.
Visitors went through different challenge zones, from reaction-based games to creative setups like a human claw machine and hologram-style displays. Completing these activities came with rewards, including drinks and prizes, which kept the crowd engaged throughout the day.
The energy stayed high thanks to live segments and community activities. One of the biggest highlights was a showmatch featuring ONIC Philippines, which drew strong reactions from the crowd. Actress Sanya Lopez also made an appearance, adding more excitement with a performance and fan interaction session.
Cosplayers also had their moment at the spotlight during the NEOverse Cosplay Arena, where participants showcased creative costumes inspired by games, anime, and original concepts. Winners walked away with nubia devices and exclusive prizes.
Another interesting part of the event was nubia’s partnership with Geely Philippines. Attendees even had the chance to win a Geely GX3 Pro S through a raffle, adding an extra layer of excitement beyond the usual tech giveaways.
At the center of everything was the nubia NEO 5 Series itself. Guests were able to try the phones firsthand, getting a feel for their gaming-focused features like shoulder triggers, improved cooling, and performance tuning inspired by REDMAGIC technology.
The lineup includes three models designed for different types of users. The base NEO 5 5G focuses on everyday gaming with a smooth display and solid battery life. The NEO 5 Pro 5G steps things up with better performance and visuals, while the NEO 5 GT 5G targets more serious gamers with advanced cooling and more responsive controls.
Early buyers seem to be leaning toward the GT variant, which reportedly saw the highest demand during the launch, followed by the Pro and standard versions.
Pricing starts at ₱11,999 for the NEO 5 5G, ₱14,999 for the Pro version, and ₱17,999 for the GT model. The phones are now available in stores nationwide and through online platforms.
To keep the momentum going, nubia is also running its TikTok Shop Super Brand Day until April 3, offering discounts, daily deals, and bundled promos for those planning to buy online.
