XaviX - Nintendo Wii's Expensive Little Brother

Motion sensing controllers seem to be the fad nowadays, big thanks to Nintendo of course. But if you're still one of the unlucky USA kids who cannot find a Wii, or Filipinos who are stuck with overpriced Japanese Nintendo Wii's and you still insist on playing a video game using motion sensing technology, then the XaviXPORT System is for you.

XaviX is a product of SHINSEDAI K.K of Japan and was recently launched in the United States (and also in the Philippines). It features several games that uses motion sensing technology similar to the Nintendo Wii. XaviXPORT retails for $79.99 (P3,500 in the Philippines). Here are the games available for the XaviXPORT System:

BASEBALL
Launched in August, 2004
$49.99 (MSRP)

When we started developing XaviXBASEBALL, our basic philosophy was to not just create a way to hit a ball or throw a pitch, but to simulate the entire baseball experience. The goal was to get people to savor the sensation of seeing a ball fly away far off into the distance as it arches and lands in the bleachers.

XaviXBASEBALL uses infrared sensor technology to detect speed and timing. Both the Bat and Ball include Wrist Straps with Adjuster.

TENNIS
Launched in August, 2004
$49.99 (MSRP)
When developing XaviXTENNIS, we placed a lot of emphasis on the timing required to hit a ball so that players can experience the thrill of a Tennis Match in their Living Room. As a result, you can hit back strokes, volleys, and winners with the same timing as in a Tennis Match.

XaviXTennis uses infrared sensor technology to detect the speed and timing with which you swing the racket. Each Tennis Racket includes Wrist Strap with Adjuster.

BOWLING
Launched in August, 2004
$49.99 (MSRP)
XaviXBOWLING provides a fun and unique way to Bowl in the Comfort of your Home, or wherever there is a Television. You will be amazed to see how the speed and direction of your roll affects where your ball strikes the pins and ultimately your success in Bowling. With XaviXBOWLING you can have a great time with friends and family, and improve your Bowling Skills in the process.

XaviXBOWLING uses Optical Sensors to detect the speed and direction of your swing. The ball on screen rolls in the direction you point and with the speed of your swing. The Bowling Ball includes Wrist Strap with Adjuster.

Now let's compare the price of the Nintendo Wii to this very limited (and expensive) game system. Lets base the price on the USA market. XaviXPORT System on the other hand retails for $79.99, +$49.99 on Baseball, +$49.99 on Tennis, +$49.99 on Bowling, +$79.99 on Golf, +$59.99 on Power Boxing. That totals to a whopping $369.94 USD! And that's about it that you could squeeze from the XaviX system.

The Nintendo Wii on the other hand retails for $249 and comes bundled with Wii Sports. Wii Sports includes Baseball, Tennis, Golf, Boxing and Bowling. Now that's 5 out of 6 of XiaviX available games! And Wii Sports are far more better than the games of XaviX.

You're better off spending your money on a Nintendo Wii. Shigeru Miyamoto has already confirmed that he is working on Wii Music and Wii Health Pack to be released this year.
