Tecno Mobile Launches First-Ever Foldable Smartphone: Phantom V Fold
The future of smartphones is here, and Tecno Mobile is leading the pack with the launch of its first-ever foldable smartphone, the Tecno Phantom V Fold. The device made its debut at the Mobile World Congress 2023 trade show in Barcelona, Spain, and it aims to give popular foldable smartphones from Samsung, Xiaomi, and HONOR a run for their money.
The Phantom V Fold boasts flagship-grade internals, including a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chip, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. It also comes with a larger folding display than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, measuring 7.85 inches, with a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO AMOLED technology. The cover display is also impressive at 6.42 inches with FHD+ resolution.
Moreover, the phone features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto option with 2x optical zoom, and a 13-megapixel ultrawide shooter at the back. There's also a 16-megapixel cam on the foldable display, as well as a 32-megapixel one for selfies on the outer screen. For an all-day battery life, Tecno has equipped the Phantom V Fold with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45-watt fast charging.
The Phantom V Fold is set to launch in India first and will be available in other international markets in the second quarter of 2023, starting at $1,099 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. It's a more affordable option than Samsung's foldable flagship.
