Well, our DPA was correct. After informing GameOPS of the new Gold and Rose Red Nintendo DS Colors 2 weeks ago, Nintendo officially announced the new Nintendo DS Lite bundles. These bundles are limited so no one knows how long they'll be around. Must get my hands on those gold DS. *drools*
Our source has informed GameOPS that Nintendo of America is set to release 2 new colors of the Nintendo DS Lite before December 2007. The colors you ask? Our DPA said, Gold and Rose Red. :~)
A very reliable source (and I mean reliable) deep inside Nintendo's Redmond Headquarters has informed GameOPS that the Onyx Nintendo Wii is coming soon... very soon.
There will also be five (5) new colors for the American Nintendo DS Lite. Our source hasn't mentioned the release date of the Onyx Wii and the new colors of the DS Lite. Stay tuned at GameOPS or subscribe to our feeds to get the latest in your inbox.
Gizmodo have discovered a 2001 controller prototype called GyroPod for Nintendo. It showed a detachable one-handed motion sensing controller from Gyration.
If you are a serious Nintendo fan, you know that Gyration is a company that holds most of the best motion-sensing patents. Nintendo licensed a number of those patents from Gyration in 2001, and brought the company on board that year to develop a one-handed controller. (Nintendo even became an investor in Gyration, which is now owned by Thomson.)

I had to ask my mom to translate this one. Maria Ozawa said that she's been playing Donkey Kong the whole day and it's bad since she has work tomorrow but she's happy though. These girls would give Captain N a run for his money.
Zelda, anyone?

Nintendo should consider entering the lingerie business...
According to the press release from Nintendo of America, Mexican authorities have confiscated 15,000 counterfeit Nintendo products from a market in Guadalajara, Mexico.
August 17 2007 - Mexican authorities conducted raids today against 12 alleged distributors of counterfeit Nintendo® products in a major "fayuca" (contraband) market in Guadalajara. Authorities seized 15,000 counterfeit Nintendo products, including 4,500 counterfeit Wii™ game discs.
The Guadalajara raids follow other Nintendo actions in Mexico during the past few months. Last month, Nintendo worked with customs agents to stop a shipment of more than 5,500 counterfeit Nintendo products entering Manzanillo, exported from China. Prior to that, Nintendo assisted local authorities in a raid of the San Juan de Dios market in Guadalajara, where 23 stores were shut down and more than 56,000 counterfeit Nintendo products were confiscated, including 11,000 counterfeit Wii discs.
"Mexico is Nintendo's largest market in Latin America, where the problem of video game piracy is widespread," said Jodi Daugherty, Nintendo of America's senior director of anti-piracy. "Since January, Nintendo has worked with law enforcement agencies worldwide to seize 100,000 counterfeit Wii games."
Earlier this month, U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents executed 32 federal search warrants in 16 states as part of an investigation into the alleged sale and distribution of illegal Wii modification chips designed to circumvent the security embedded in the hardware and allow users to play counterfeit Wii software.
Nintendo and its developers and publishers lost an estimated $762 million in sales in 2006 due to piracy of its products.
If you haven't heard it yet, some guys got irked when our Wii-GameCube article reached GamePro. One reasoned that our article could have affected how Microsoft, Nintendo, and other companies would deal with gamers in the Philippines. Blocking of credit cards, IPs, and racial discriminations are just the few effects our article has "supposedly" caused...
Posted by AngelsCircle
If you haven't realize it yet? Our gaming is affected by that article. Microsoft block our locally issued credit card in buying in xbox live marketplace and our IP are recognized already to be block in downloading video medias because they do not trust us anymore. That article reaching gamepro website will have an impact on Wii gamers using their credit card to pay for Virtual Games downloadable and other things an ordinary Nintendo Gamers usually have.
How many gamers in xbox live will have a negative feedback on their gamertags once the other foreign players learned they are filipinos because they have bad impression of us because some articles like that stating we are modders and we are reverse engineer even most of us are not? An article like that has a greater impact against xbox gamers locally than those of Nintendo gamers because of the online persecution are extended thru audio means also in xbox live.
Damage has been done and all of us has to live with it now, Another nail to our crosses and another nail for the coffin of our gaming recognition with Halo 3 is coming to the xbox and more online games coming for the Nintendo with our country is listed as one of the location that can be chosen as seen in Pokemon Battle Revolution but all of that will hang in balance after that articles impact.
Well this raid in Mexico doesn't affect my relations with my Mexican online buddies, and neither should yours. Regarding the blocking of credit cards, companies have been doing this before. Not just Microsoft. Heard or PayPal?
Game companies know how rampant piracy is in Asia, and our simple article wouldn't affect their decisions if they wanted to give official support to Philippine gamers or not. Nintendo knows how rampant piracy is in Mexico, so why do they still offer official support there?
Nintendo of Japan just released a new add-on for the Nintendo DS. The device which looks like an optical mouse, plugs directly into the GameBoy Advance slot of the DS. It basically allows you to slide your DS on a flat surface just like a mouse. The device is bundled with a new game called Slide Adventure: Mag Kid.
The DS add-on retails for ¥5,800 (approx Php2,240). Better buy additional Pledge cleaners to remove those table scratches :P Official commercial of the peripheral after the jump
Even retro gaming pushes the limits of technology. The iPhone isn't supposed to support third-party client apps, much less third-party games. That's why this open-source iPhone NES emulator is just so damn cool. It even takes advantage of the iPhone's large multitouchscreen to include a classic NES joypad. It still has control issues and lacks audio, but it's a promising little work in progress.
The reactions are simply amazing! From adoring the fake box arts to as far as booking a flight to the Philippines just to buy one of those GameCube Wii games.
Rocky's post was just the tip of the iceberg. Amidst the typhoon, I went to a well known shopping mall in Manila this evening to look for the same type of GameCube Wii Games that Rocky found in Greenhills. But low and behold, I've found something new... The first game that I saw was this 4 in 1 Zelda game. The full sized DVD contains The Four Swords, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and the Ocarina of Time. This is better than the Master Quest compilation! The 4 in 1 Zelda game costs P400 or approx US$8.88
Dance Dance Revolution Mario? First Mario game for the WiiFit? Oh wait, the WiiFit hasn't been released yet.
What an offer, 3 Mario parties and you get to use the Wii controller to roll the dice. Online Gaming? The possibilities as endless. NOT!
Ahhh yes... Paper Mario... Wait. No Super? Almost got fooled there.
Where's Snake?
Remake after another? Oh wait, is that a Wiimote that Nemesis is holding?
WTF?! Another remake?
Believe me, Sonic isn't the fastest thing on this planet... it's the pirates.
Two sucky games in one. What more could you ask for?
Does this come with online play?

Baten? Is this a new baseball game for the Wii?
By the way, for those who own a modified GameCube and are thinking of playing the multi-in-one games, you might have some trouble. According to what I've read before, the GameCube's lens is only capable of reading a specified radius or area on the disc. Single games might work since it only encompasses a small portion of the DVD. Multi-in-1 games occupies almost all of the area of a full sized DVD.
We've earlier reported that the success of the Nintendo Wii console have prompted the pirates to re-release their bootleg copies of Nintendo GameCube games. Nintendo GameCube wasn't popular among the masses here in the Philppines since the availability of pirated games and modchip just materialized on the last years of the GameCube's life.
I was just surprised to see the number of Wii games being sold in Greenhills especially this one store in Shopesville. The clearbook folder where they keep a list of their available games centainly contains lots of titles for the Wii. But upon closer examination, you would see that the games are actually Nintendo GameCube games, pressed on normal sized DVDs. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is a GameCube game no doubt. The same goes to Tony Hawk Underground 2.
And there's this uber difficult Resident Evil 0 exclusive for the Nintendo GameCube. The only Resident Evil that I haven't finished. Return that damn storage box! Dammit!
Another Zelda game for the GameCube. I haven't played this one yet though.
Metroid 3 for the Wii won't be released until August 27, 2007. So what the hell is this game? The saleslady told me that this is the latest Metroid game for the Wii. OOOOHHKKKAAAAYYY...
The remake of the original Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation came out for the GameCube and not for the Wii. Again, the saleslady told me that this is the latest MGS game that will also come out for the PlayStation 3.
People like me won't fall for these traps but how about moms buying a Wii for their kids? The store where I found these games is also selling a Nintendo Wii package for about P20,000+ (approx. US$444.44). The package includes a Japanese Nintendo Wii and about 10 of these supposedly Wii games. I acted like I don't know anything about games so I asked if the games they're selling are legit, and she said yes.

When we relaunched GameOPS last April 2007, Rocky and I were excited to take some pictures of pirated Nintendo GameCube games in Greenhills. Too bad, GameCube was not too popular among gamers here in the Philippines that the supplier of these bootleg games from China decided to stop shipping the games to their merchants.
The success of Nintendo Wii around the world and the wide availability of Nintendo Wii units here in the Philippines may have prompted these suppliers to re-release their pirated GameCube stocks again. The picture above is taken at Shoppesville in Greenhills. Price for each pirated Nintendo GameCube game is at P150 each (approx US$3.33).
If the gamers over the land of the free are having a hard time to find a Wii, the gamers here in the Philippines can have all the Nintendo Wii they want. Whether it's a Japanese or US version, Greenhills' V-Mall have them.
Filipino gamers also have a wide variety of colors to choose from for their Nintendo DS. Just like the Japanese exclusive Nintendo DS lite Sky Blue. Best of both worlds :) Only downside is the Wii consoles are priced way way higher than the SRP of $249. Each console retails for atleast P16,000 (approx US$355) or more.
After the large demand of Wii and Nintendo DS, Nintendo is now ranked 5th Largest Company in Japan overtaking NTT and Honda.
According to YAHOO! News:
TOKYO (Reuters) - Nintendo Co. Ltd. (7974.OS) zipped passed telecoms giant NTT (9432.T) and a major financial group to become Japan's fifth-biggest company by market value on Thursday, propelled higher by a stellar earnings performance on demand for its Wii and DS game gear. ADVERTISEMENT
By mid-afternoon Nintendo's stock had climbed 8.1 percent to 614,000 yen, adding to a 3.5 percent gain made on Wednesday after its earnings announcement.
Nintendo lifted its annual outlook above market expectations after quarterly operating profit more than tripled, as its strategy to expand the gaming population to women and the elderly paid off handsomely.
Offering innovative and easy-to-play games, the company's DS handheld player and Wii console have outsold rival Sony Corp. (6758.T) and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) machines in recent months.
Its market value now stands at 8.69 trillion yen ($72 billion), outstripping Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (8316.T), NTT or Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp (9432.T), and Honda Motor Co (7267.T) which had placed higher in the rankings only a day before. It shot past Sony last month.
The Kyoto-based company revised up its operating profit forecast by 37 percent to 370 billion yen ($3.1 billion) for the year to March 2008, topping a consensus of a 305 billion yen profit in a poll of 20 analysts by Reuters Estimates.
It also lifted its annual dividend forecast to 960 yen from an earlier estimate of 700 yen.
Nintendo's DS lets users control play with a stylus instead of manipulating a keypad, while the Wii, which competes with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360, comes with an unusual motion-sensing controller that can be swung like a bat or a sword.
The creator of such game characters as Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong raised its sales forecast for the Wii by 18 percent to 16.5 million units for the current business year, while lifting its DS sales target by 18 percent to 26 million units.
So Nintendo, can you now have a price cut with your Wii Consoles? please ^^
Looking for some nostalgic PC gaming? Then the Buffalo Famicom controller is the answer to all your video game wet dreams. It looks almost exactly like the Family Computer controllers with the added shoulder buttons and two more above the A and B buttons.
The controller is similar to the cheap ones being sold at CDR-King for P100. Features plug and play for Windows XP, Vista, 2000, and Mac. Drivers are included for Windows 98 and ME.
This controller is manufactured by Buffalo in Japan.
No it's not a Bravestarr game but an accessory for your Nintendo 64 system. The 32X like contraption will allow you to insert and play your Super NES/Super Famicom and NES/Famicom cartridges on your Nintendo 64 console. Think of is as a Super GameBoy on steroids.
The Tristar is not licensed by Nintendo. Click here for more information about the N64 Tristar.
